Search Word or Phrase from the LOG Files in Windows 2008 R2 ..

By Default  "Search contents from LOG File" Option is not available  in Windows 2008 R2 Server.

One can enable the search contents from LOG files as follows.

Go to

Control Panel

Type "Indexing" in Search Filed on top right corner,

it will show  the  "Change how windows searches" in  Indexing options, Select it.

here :

Select Advanced tab

Go to File types tab

Type 'Log' to select the file extension type "LOG" 

Select the Radio Button ' Index Properties and File Contents ' for the Log Files.

Click OK 

Now you can search the content (word or phrase) from the LOG files, in Windows 2008 R2 Server.
